Mom forgot the good cameras, so here is a picture from a disposable camera of Dante's new favorite toy. It's a Doodle Monster you can write on with markers and then wash off. My son spent 3/4 of the money he had the week I was in to buy a Doodle Bear for his little stepsister, Hailey. He even put back the really nice Yu-gi-oh cards for a cheaper pack so he could afford the bear. Generosity has always been one of his traits.

What a sweet kid! I hope my son is like that. He shows some traits, but he is too young to know what money is yet:-).

Rebecca, I think part of it comes from having a generous mama. When kids see you getting a lot of enjoyment out of sharing things, and your first comment is "Here, you have some too", they tend to pick it up.
But my son is WAY more generous than I am, even from the time he was very little and should've been hogging everything for himself. He would try to shove his sippy cup down my throat, he broke off pieces of candy for his cousins, he's always on the lookout to get presents for people and animals. That's just how he shows love, I guess.
OK, one more comment about my kid and then I'll shut up, because I could go on all day. Funniest generous story about him to date:
When he was about 3 1/2, he was in daycare while I was finishing college. The daycare room had about 18 kids in it and an island table in the middle of the room for holding drinks, etc. One of the workers brought brownies into the room and set them on the island table, and of course, the little people congregated. She left the room (I should've been pissed about that part, but the story was too funny). My son is tall for his age, so he managed to find something to climb on and scaled the island table.
When the workers came back, he was sitting in the middle of the island with chocolate all over his face. And this is what they told me, literaly: "After he sated himself, he was passing down the brownies to little outstretched hands like a king giving presents to his people."
I'm sure temptation was too great at first and he gorged himself, but then, he was dutifully passing them around to everyone else. The mental image is just too funny for me. OK, shutting up now.
That is too funny!
Your son is going to be a heartbreaker!
Going to be? Come on, he's gorgeous. I bet he's already broken some hearts.
Well...there is this older fourth grader named Tashia (like Asia but with a T)...
Contemplator,
Your son is a beautiful boy. His outer beauty shines in your photos and his inner beauty in your descriptions.
He reminds me a lot of my son. :)
